This site is for Terrace House fans who have interest in the venue where "Opening New Doors" took place. The main scene was shot in a town called Karuizawa which is located pretty much in the center of Japan within Nagano prefecture. Karuizawa is a posh highland resort at the foot of an active volcano Mount Asama. Due to the altitude of roughly 1,000 meters, the town provides a pleasant escape from the summer heat which is one of the several unique reasons many wealthy urbanites own a holiday villa there. It only takes litte more than an hour to reach Karuizawa from central Tokyo by Hokuriku Shinkansen.
This site will be updated weekly with the latest Terrace House episode contents. However unlike other fan sites we will try not to give away too much of the story. Rather we intend to provide many on site information for people who want to learn more about Karuizawa and plan and seek to travel Karuizawa in the future. The site domain name "osusumewa" means "recommendation" in Japanese. This word is very handy to ask any Japanese for their recommendation while you travel. Have FUN!
